Madison Homes for Sale

Real Estate in Madison New Jersey

Madison NJ Homes for SaleNamed after President James Madison, the charming Borough of Madison, is a vibrant commuter suburb with low rolling hills and a quaint downtown. When the Madison train station was established in 1837, it brought millionaires to the area looking for land to build estates for weekend getaways and vacation use.

Many of these land developers chose Madison. “Millionaire’s Row,” which stretches from downtown Madison to downtown Morristown was formed as a result. The train line also gave way to a flourishing rose-growing industry, which gave Madison it's nickname as “The Rose City.” Millions of cut roses were sent by train to New York’s flower trade annually. The nickname remains in use until this day and can be seen in the town’s logo and street names such as “Rose Avenue” and “Greenhouse Lane.”

"Madison Public Schools offered various different opportunities for their students, through endless extra-curricular activities, multiple sports teams, their arts and music program, and many clubs. Being apart of this school district has given me character, confidence, and the ability to achieve any goals I strive for. Because this school district is so competitive, it helped me be able to become the hard-worker that I am today, and be able to exert a lot of effort with every class I have taken." - Niche.com
